Retaining wall

The wall structure which is used to retain earth pressure is called as ‘Retaining wall’.

This structure is also subjected by direct and bending stresses. The important term used in retaining wall is angle of repose.

Angle of repose: The maximum natural slope at witch soil particles rest due to their internal friction when they are left unsupported.

Angle of repose is equals to angle of friction.
