Young's Modulus

The ratio of simple stress(σ) to the simple strain(e) is called as Elastic constant or Young's Modulus or Modulus of elasticity.
It is denoted by "E" (capital letter E).

Mathematically,

E = σ/e.
∴ It's S.I. unit is N / mm2.

Young's Modulus for,

Steel ⇒200(GPa)
Alluminum ⇒70(GPa)
Brass ⇒100(GPa)
Bronze ⇒80(GPa)
Copper ⇒120(GPa)
Diamond ⇒1200(GPa)
